Meals on Wheels America is thrilled to launch a first-of-its-kind national awareness campaign with the Ad Council designed to inspire and recruit a new pipeline of volunteers for the nationwide network of Meals on Wheels programs. Through heartfelt PSAs created by pro-bono creative agency Anomaly and award-winning photographer Mark Seliger, "America, Let's Do Lunch™" shines an important spotlight on just a few of the 2.4 million seniors Meals on Wheels serves each year.

Headlines alert us to the impact of the aging of America. The “silver tsunami” or "age wave" is already here as over 10,000 Baby Boomers reach the age of 65 every single day. One quarter of today’s 65-year-olds will live past the age of 90 and will experience many of their daily chores turning into insurmountable everyday challenges. These seniors already represent the fastest growing population segment in the U.S.

Meals on Wheels Health is an initiative of Meals on Wheels America that brings together the nationwide Meals on Wheels network in support of the healthcare system’s achievement of its triple bottom line goals. We can accomplish this because of our trusted and unique ability to cross the threshold into seniors’ homes, giving us the advantage to better assess and deliver on the individualized needs of high-risk and special needs beneficiaries.

RESEARCH PROVES THE FULL IMPACT OF MEALS ON WHEELS

Meals on Wheels America, with funding from AARP Foundation, commissioned Brown University’s Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research to design a 15-week pilot study to compare the experience and health outcomes realized by older adults who receive three different levels of service: daily traditional meal delivery, once-weekly frozen delivery and individuals on a waiting list. What we found confirms what we’ve known for decades anecdotally and through personal experience: that Meals on Wheels does in fact deliver so much more than just a meal.

Instructions

Now that you have your Smartphone, your ready to go. We recommend that you Reset your Smartphone back to Factory Settings before you begin and then follow the steps below.

1. Connect To Public WiFi

After you have Reset your Smartphone to Factory Settings First you need to connect to any Public WiFi in your community. They are everywhere now. No passwords needed anymore.

2. Download Getsoup App

Getsoup provides anyone the ability to locate the elderly in your community that needs food and human interaction.

Forget the Google Play Store. No Usernames no Passwords needed. Use the default Browser on your Smartphone to download the Getsoup APK from the URL: getsoup.a2gsales.com

Install and Register.

3. Download Olio App

The Olio App is another valuable tool. The Food Sharing Revolution is here. Olio allows you to connect neighbors with each other and with the local community so surplus food can be shared, not thrown away.
